The most mythical and challenging trail in Brazil, deep in the Amazon rainforest

Carved into the vast green of the Amazon, Pico da Neblina — Brazil’s highest peak at 2,993 meters — is more than a summit: it’s a legend.

Sacred to the Yanomami people, this territory reopened after years of dialogue, now operating under a respectful, sustainable tourism model guided by Indigenous stewardship.

The Journey

This 14-day expedition welcomes groups of 10+ and traverses rivers, villages, and forest trails inside Pico da Neblina National Park — the second largest in Brazil.

Logistics:

  • 4 nights at a lodge in São Gabriel da Cachoeira (852 km from Manaus)

  • 2 nights at the Maturacá Indigenous Base (accessed via an 8-hour river journey)

  • 8 nights camping deep in the forest

All transport, meals, guides, permits and a pre-trip orientation are included.

The Experience

  • Navigate wild rivers by motor canoe, surrounded by jagged mountains and tropical birds

  • Camp beneath surreal starlit skies in the heart of the Amazon

  • Trek step by step to the summit of Brazil’s most iconic mountain

  • Learn from the Yanomami, whose presence predates maps and nations

The climb is hard — even for locals. But the reward isn’t just elevation. It’s transformation.
