My life:
A Journey
through the Amazon
I was born on March 17, 1970, in the Indigenous village of Ipanore, located in the Upper Rio Negro region of São Gabriel da Cachoeira—an area known as the “Dog’s Head” (Cabeça do Cachorro). This territory is a true cultural mosaic, home to 23 different Indigenous peoples and where 19 distinct languages are spoken.
I left my beloved village to study in Manaus, where I also began working in local factories. It was during this time that I took my first steps as a guide assistant—an experience that deepened my bond with the forest and expanded my knowledge of the Amazon jungle. At the same time, I enrolled in an English course, which would become essential for the journey my life would take.
Over time, my deep knowledge of the forest and my skills as a guide caught the attention of international documentary teams such as Jungle Trek, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, CNN, and BBC. I worked with these productions, traveled the world, and lived in Europe—always carrying with me the roots and wisdom of the Amazon.
Today, I dedicate my life to ecotourism, sharing my passion and knowledge with visitors from all over the globe. Through Capuchinbird, my goal is to reveal the profound beauty of the Amazon rainforest, while promoting the preservation of its culture, biodiversity, and ancestral heritage.
This is my story—a journey of love for nature, for Indigenous culture, and for building bridges between worlds. I'm ready to share it with you.
